Vox Pop-definition

vox pop/vox populi literally means the voice of the people and refers to interviews conducted on the general public whci rely on public positioning and spontaneous answers in a chance encounter. the aim of a vox pop is to achieve a wide angle of viewing points and opinions on a sublect, allowing the press etc. to decifer what the public feel about certain topics and their views and opinions. often vox pops are tailored to the interviewe for example; a group of students would not be asked about retirement, but how a certain sublject affects their educational lives.
